Figure 1 shows 50% of Americans’ are worse off today financially than they were a year ago. The largest % since the middle of the Great Financial Crisis in 2008.
Figure 2 also displays the results of the same poll but divides it up by income category.

The results from this Gallup poll clearly demonstrate the negative impact long periods of above average inflation have on a country. GDP growth means nothing if the income of the everyday citizen falls behind increasing prices.
